Concrete and masonry work in progress
What we do

Concrete, brick, block, stone — new and old.

Concrete and masonry sit at the foundation of commercial work and they're often where projects either go right or go wrong. Cast-in-place slabs, walls, columns, foundations, slab-on-grade — done to CSA A23.1 with the right reinforcing schedule, the right cover, the right cure. Concrete repair to ICRI guidelines for spalling, delamination, corrosion-driven cracking — typical on parking structures, plazas and exposed slabs in the GTA's freeze-thaw cycle. We've done all of it.

Masonry is the other half. Concrete block (CMU) for new walls. Brick veneer for new and infill. Heritage masonry restoration — repointing with lime mortar, brick repair, terracotta, cut-stone work. Every heritage facade in Toronto has a different binder. Knowing which one to mix is the job.

How we work

Mix, place, cure. Or repair, repoint, restore.

New work and restoration use different methods. The standards are the same.

STEP / 01
Mix design / mortar match
For new concrete: design mix to CSA A23.1, cover requirements, slump and air entrainment to suit conditions. For heritage: mortar analysis, lime/cement ratio matched to original, sand and aggregate sourced to match colour and texture.
STEP / 02
Place / repoint
Concrete: formwork to CSA A23.1, reinforcing per drawing, vibration and consolidation, cure to spec. Masonry: laid plumb and level to CSA A371, courses tied properly. Repointing: joints raked back, mortar packed in lifts, tooled to match original.
STEP / 03
Cure / protect
Concrete cured to spec — wet, plastic-covered, or membrane — based on weather. Masonry protected from rain and freeze for 48–72 hours. Heritage repointing protected from sun and wind so the lime can carbonate properly.
STEP / 04
Finish & warranty
Concrete saw-cut, sealed and finished as drawn. Masonry cleaned without acid washing on heritage (water and brush only). As-built record, mix tickets and cure logs delivered with the warranty package.
How we engage

Hire us as the GC, or as the trade.

Concrete and masonry work comes both ways.

As your GC

When the project is concrete- or masonry-led — a parking structure repair, a foundation underpinning, a heritage facade restoration — we run the whole job, including supporting trades, permits, hoarding, traffic management and close-out. One accountable contractor.

As a specialty sub

When another GC is running a building project but needs the concrete or masonry crew, we bid as a trade subcontractor under their contract. Common on tower work, retail rollouts, and heritage renovations where the GC doesn't carry concrete and masonry in-house.
